William Eugene Huntley

A memorial service for William “Bill” Huntley, 87, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.

William Eugene Huntley was born May 3, 1938, in Rush Springs, Oklahoma, the son of Urban Eugene Huntley and Ellen Dee (LaBoon) Huntley. He passed from this life on Saturday, November 1, 2025, while visiting family in Mobile, Alabama.

Bill attended and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1956. He then attended and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1961 with a degree in Civil Engineering, graduating in the top 10 of his class.

He married Deanna Faris in 1961 and out of this union came two sons – William Brent and Christopher Dean.

After graduation, Bill worked with the US Army Corps of Engineers in Little Rock, Arkansas and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Bill loved his work with the Corps. He was recognized for his design and work on several projects with federal and state negotiations involved. Upon retirement, Bill lived in Colorado, moving back to Oklahoma in 2024 to be closer to family.

Bill was a man of strong faith. He loved the Lord with his heart and soul. Reading the bible was priority in his life. He believed the words in the bible, and he lived his life by those words. He would often say, “If you don’t have God in your life, you are lost.”

Bill loved his family – immediate family, extended family, church family, and of course the many family friends he treasured. He believed the love of family is life’s greatest blessing. Next to God, family was everything.

The mountains were a favorite of Bill. He enjoyed spending time hunting elk, deer, and turkey, and flyfishing the streams and rivers in New Mexico and Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, William Brent.

Loved ones left to remember Bill is his son, Chris and wife Diane of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren Josh Huntley and wife Mallery of Tuttle, OK; Tara Huntley and fiancée Ryan Hensley of Satsuma, AL; and great-grandchildren Aiden Huntley and Raelyn Tarver, and J.J. Huntley.

The service and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
