Private funeral services for Virginia Belle Hawpe, 80, of Lindsay will be held by the family.
Virginia Belle Hawpe was born July 15, 1944, in San Jose, California to Charlie Henry Buckner and Hazel V. (Roach) Buckner and passed from this life on Saturday, July 4, 2025 at her home in Lindsay.
Virginia grew up in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1962. She raised her kids and grandkids. She was later employed at the University of Science and Arts as a librarian. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved to travel the world, especially to Germany. She also loved poetry.
She was preceded in death by both parents, brothers, Jerry Buckner and Donnie Buckner; sons Billy G. Hawpe and Allen “Wayne” Hawpe; and granddaughter Crystal Gregory-Hare.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharla Kirkland of Lindsay, son and spouse Donnie Alexander and spouse Alice of Hinton, daughter Lisa Shipley and spouse Lynn of Ninnekah; grandsons and their spouses Josh and Raina Hawpe of Chickasha; Brandon and Erin Kirkland of El Reno, Chris and Belinda Gregory of Lawton, and Billy Hawpe of Lawton; granddaughters and their spouses, Summer and Skylar Huber-Hawpe of Chickasha and Debra Kirkland of Chickasha; and an extensive list of great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in the Erin Springs Cemetery, south of Lindsay, under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
