A funeral service for Travis Jude Crochet, 40, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Chickasha First with Trisha Proulx officiating.
Travis Jude Crochet was born January 3, 1986, in Lafayette, Louisiana. He passed from this life on August 27, 2026, at home in Chickasha.
Travis grew up in the Ninnekah area and graduated from Ninnekah High School in 2004. He joined the United States Marine Corp and served in the 2nd battalion 4th Marines Weapons Company from 2004 to 2008.
After the Marines, he worked in the oilfield and then devoted his time to his home and family. He enjoyed learning about history, computers, and many other topics. He always had many home projects going at once.
He met his wife, Larrci Ann Menefee, in 2015 and they were married January 20, 2021 in Oklahoma City. They had three beautiful children and he loved them more than anything in the world. When you see them, you will see him. He loved to take them to the beach and the mountains; having water balloon fights and drawing with sidewalk chalk. He taught them so many life lessons in the short time they had with him.
Travis lived his life loud and unapologetically and on his own terms. He was wild, stubborn, yet so loyal, and always spoke his own mind. His mantra “Oderint dum Metuant” means “Let them hate, so long as they fear.” He was the kind of man that could make you laugh, make you crazy, and make you love him, all at the same time.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Harry Lee and Vella Duplantis and David L. and Vicki Pitts, and his nephew Kaiden Ray Trotter.
Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his wife Larrci and children Axl, Eleanor, and Maverick, of the home; sister Lacy Pitts of Chickasha; mother-in-law and father-in-law Traci and Ronnie Allen of Ninnekah; sisters-in-law Dana Allen of Chickasha, Paige Trotter and husband Daniel of Chickasha, and Baylee Allen of Ninnekah; the many brothers he gained through his military service, who remained an important part of his life; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A viewing for Travis will be held at Ferguson Funeral Home on Sunday, August 30th from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
The service and cremation arrangements following the service are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
