Samuel Paul Sampson

A funeral service for Samuel Paul Sampson, 43, of Oklahoma City, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2025, at Epworth United Methodist Church.

Samuel Paul Sampson, lovingly known as Sammy, was born on March 1, 1982, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Gary Sampson and Paula Chapman. He passed away on September 9, 2025, at the age of 43.

Sammy was a loving and devoted father to his son, Beckett, who was the joy of his life and his proudest accomplishment. He cherished every moment they spent together—whether it was watching sports, playing golf, gaming, or simply enjoying each other’s company. Sammy was a lifelong sports fanatic and especially passionate about the Oklahoma City Thunder.

From a very early age, Sammy had a deep appreciation for food—especially a perfectly cooked cut of red meat. Cooking was not only a hobby, but a lifelong passion and career. He loved preparing and sharing meals with his family and friends.

Sammy is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bub and Mozelle Sampson; his maternal grandfather, Paul Chapman; and his uncles, Phil and David Sampson.

He is survived by his beloved son, Beckett Sampson; his longtime friend and co-parent, Ashley Flannigan; his parents, Gary Sampson and Paula Chapman; his maternal grandmother, Phyllis Chapman; his brother, Andrew Sampson, sister-in-law Shannon Sampson, and their daughters, Audrey and Savannah; his sister, Ashley Sampson King, and her sons, Gunner and Dax. He also leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.

Sammy’s legacy is not defined by his struggles, but by his kindness, his laughter, and the love he gave so freely. Though his time with us was too short, his spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew him.

The viewing for Sammy will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Ferguson Funeral Home.
