Roy Lee Carter, 85, passed from this life on Monday, September 9, 2024 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He was born July 22, 1939 in Stigler, Oklahoma to Guthrie “Gus” James Carter and Maggie Martha (Holloway) Carter.

Roy grew up in a large family and graduated from high school. On November 10, 1959, he married Elnora Wilson in Atoka, Oklahoma.

They eventually moved to the Chickasha area.

He was preceded in death by both parents, a daughter Carolyn, his wife Elnora in 2020 and ten sisters and two brothers.

In these last years, his neighbors and friends stepped up to care for Roy. He also has numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
