The family of Rick Amerson, 66, of Chickasha, will honor his life privately.

Richard “Rick” Leroy Amerson was born December 19, 1959 in Cushing, Oklahoma. He was the son of Lloyd O’Kelley and Theda Bell (Rhamy) Amerson and was raised by his mother and stepfather Robert Amerson. He passed from this life on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at his home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Rick was a man of many talents who held many jobs throughout his life, including truck driving, carpentry and handyman work. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, traveling with carnivals and spending time with his family.

On December 19, 1987, he married Sherri Ann Stephens in Chickasha, Oklahoma and they had shared over 35 years together until Sherri’s death in March 2023.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, his wife Sherri, and his brother Mark.

Loved ones left to remember him are his son Martin Amerson and grandson Liam of Chickasha; step-father Robert Amerson; sister Diana Burton and husband Michael; sister Robin Malone and husband Leon; sister Carol Jenkins and husband Ronnie; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
