Chickasha

A funeral service for Rhoda “Lynn” Heck, 75, of Chickasha, will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Michael Oberlender officiating.

Rhoda Lynn (Edwards) Heck was born November 11, 1949, in Ballinger, Texas, the daughter of Wesley Lee Edwards and Martha Lorraine (Ellis) Edwards. She passed from this life on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Lynn grew up in Lindsay and graduated from Lindsay High School in 1968. She attended East Central University for three years where she met Keith Wayne Heck. They were married on September 6, 1969.

Lynn worked outside the home while Keith was finishing Law School, then she stayed home and raised her two girls, Kerry and Kacey. She attained her paralegal certification and helped Keith at the law office. She also helped Keith with rental properties around Chickasha. She was active in Epworth Christian Women’s group, a local PEO chapter, and volunteered at the Grady Memorial Hospital gift shop. She was a founding member of the Great Plains Emmaus.

In her younger years, she was an avid water skier and snow skier. Lynn loved making quilts, and they are showcased throughout her home. When Keith passed away, she had to find ways to keep her hands and heart busy. She took care of her grandchildren, took daily walks, and volunteered with many various charities and activities within the Chickasha community. She leaves her children and grandchildren with a legacy by the example she set in her deep and trusting faith.

She was preceded in death by both parents, an infant son Kevin Heck in 1972 and her husband Keith in July 2005.

Loved ones left to remember her are her children, Kerry Mott and husband Brad of Oologah; Dr. Kacey Wallace and husband Dr. Justin of Chickasha; brother, David Edwards and wife Linda of Branson, Missouri; sister Donna Clements and husband Brent of Norman; grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew and Emily, Jordan and Keshawn, Kaden, and Keegan; and other extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Ferguson Funeral Home on Friday, August 8th from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Great Plains Emmaus at https://www.greatplainsemmaus.org/donations-page (DONATION PAGE | greatplainsemmaus)
