A funeral service for Raymond Earl Parks, 86, of Cement, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Assembly of God Church of Cement with Reverend John Zwolle officiating.
Raymond Earl Parks was born November 17, 1939, in Faxon Oklahoma to James Ivy Parks and Lucy Lena (Hayes) Parks. He peacefully passed from this life on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones in Norman, Oklahoma.
Raymond grew up in Cement and attended Cement Public School.
On July 7, 1960, he married Wilma Louise Clift, and they shared 45 loving years together until her passing in October 2005.
He drafted into the United States Army in May of 1963. He was stationed in Honolulu and served two years in the infantry, receiving medals as a Marksman on Rifle M1 and Expert on Rifle M14.
He worked for a power company trimming trees and for Gabriel Ride Control Products from 1975 until 2005, retiring to care for the love of his life.
Raymond liked to mow and enjoyed tinkering with cars or anything he could fix. His greatest joy was his grandchildren and taking care of his kids. He was the sweetest guy and was known for his blue eyes and infectious smile. He was lovingly stubborn and always stood his ground. He never said no and was always willing to help those in need.
He was preceded in death by both parents, his wife Louise, son Ricky Parks, infant daughter Brenda Gale Parks, sister Annabelle Mandrell, and brothers Floyd Parks, J.C. Parks, and Kenneth Wayne Parks.
Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his daughters and sons-in-law Gena and Junior Downey of Cement and Amy and Brett Wright of Chickasha; granddaughters Markie Morton of Norman, Kirstie Morton of Cement, Haillie Morton of Yukon, Rebecca Parks of Rush Springs, Ashley Parks of Rush Springs; grandsons Trae Downey and wife Paulina of Cement, Keegan Mooter of Chickasha, and Greyson Wright of Chickasha; great-grandson Leo Downey; his buddies Sam, Don and Greg; his Brookdale family, including the caregivers and residents; and other extended family and friends.
Viewing for Raymond will be on Friday, December 5th at Ferguson Funeral Home from 2:00 pm until 7:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
