Memorial services will be held for Phyllis L. Armintrout, 83, of Chickasha at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 12, 2011, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Kim Hayes officiating.
Phyllis L. Armintrout was born on January 5, 1928, in Milford, Nebraska, to Phillip and Susan Ernst Stolz. She died on Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at home in Chickasha.
Phyllis grew up in Milford and graduated from the Milford Public Schools in 1945. Her family remained in Milford, so she always had that connection to call home no matter where life took her.
After high school Phyllis attended a business college in Lincoln, Nebraska. On November 28, 1946, she married Myron Armintrout in Lincoln. They would go through life as partners for sixty-five years and raise two children in their loving home.
Phyllis was a hard worker at home and on the job. Her early jobs were related to the courses she took in Lincoln but later her career would focus more on bookkeeping. After years of hard work she retired early as a Financial Vice President for a tile manufacturing company. At home, she and Myron enjoyed working together. She would be seen outside helping him with the yard work just as often as he would be seen inside helping her with the housework. Phyllis and Myron both retired in 1986 and toured the United States and Canada together before settling down. They just recently came to the Chickasha area.
Phyllis had a personality that made her stand out and was well loved by ALL.
She was preceded in death by: both parents, three sisters, and her first great-grandchild, Stacey Lee Alexander.
Survivors include: husband Myron of the home; daughter Myra Alexander of Chickasha; son James Armintrout of Ashland, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Scott Alexander, Jason Armintrout and Amy Armintrout-Kohl; and two great-grandchildren.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
