Peggy Ann Scott, resident of Newark, Texas was born in Tabler, Oklahoma on July 18 th , 1936 and passed away peacefully in Texas on December 2nd, 2023. She was a resident of Chickasha, Oklahoma for almost 40 years and retired at Gabriel in Chickasha after 18 years.
She loved reading and working puzzles. At any time, she would have over a hundred books on her shelves ecstatic to read the next and always a puzzle on the table for everyone to join in. She loved watching Western movie’s, especially the old ones. She also loved to crochet and made the most beautiful doily patterns that will truly be cherished. In her earlier years, she was an avid baker and cook and always had cookies and fudge ready for the holidays. She loved to sew and could make anything. She cherished family get-togethers and couldn’t wait till the next. In her retirement years, she loved sitting on the porch of her cabin watching the deer and numerous wildlife. She would take strolls down to the lake and enjoy the fresh air. She kept dog cookies in her cabin for Jax and Hoss who visited her frequently and would bark to let her know they were there for a cookie. She always had a huge smile on her face when the grand-kids and great grand-kids came to visit and a bowl full of candy waiting for them. She was blessed with numerous grand-children and great grand-children; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
She is survived by four daughters, Joyce Cushman and husband Mike, of Newark, Texas; Tammy Ballio of Fort Worth, Texas, Renna McCoy and husband Mike, of Yukon, Oklahoma, Charolette Moore and husband Elip, of Chickasha, Oklahoma; four sons, Robert Scott of Chickasha, Oklahoma; Harold “Eugene” Scott of Phoenix City, Alabama, Joseph Scott and wife Jill, of Chickasha, Oklahoma and Richard Scott, of Chickasha, Oklahoma.
She is preceded in death by her parents Alvin Roy and Beatrice May (Joslin) Ginn, husband Bobby Cleo Scott, daughter Elizabeth Ann Scott and son James Andrew Scott, one brother, Roy Lee Ginn, four sisters Marva “Jean” Jeffries, Ida “Lou” Scott, Betty “Sue” Pedroza, and Geraldine “Jeri” Pruett.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. A private memorial interment will be held by the family in Amber Cemetery on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
