A memorial service for Nita Darlene (Williams) Newbrough will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.
Nita Darlene (Williams) Newbrough, 74, died August 1, 2025, at Grady Memorial Hospital after several years of complicated health issues.
She was born May 29th, 1951, in Coulee Dam, Washington to Juanita M. Boone-Williams and Darrell E. Williams, joining her older sister-Sharon (Williams) Thompson.
Darlene was a graduate of Anadarko High School and later would graduate with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, in speech pathology and art.
After graduating college, she pursued a teaching career focused on speech pathology and working with children with special needs. After completing a fulfilling teaching career, she retired to raise bees with her husband of 45 years, Robert Lee Newbrough.
Darlene and Robert were married on September 26th, 1980, in a private ceremony hosted by Juanita and Darrell. Several years later, the two would welcome their first-born son, Robert Ryan Newbrough on June 22nd, 1982. Followed by their second son Bryant lee Newbrough on August 24th, 1984. They welcomed their daughter, Rosemary Morningstar Newbrough on March 6th, 1987.
When not busy tending to her backyard and bees with her loving husband, Robert, she adored spending time lounging on her patio with the sun, music, and a breeze. Often accompanied by the laughter of the three grandchildren she loved—Maxson, Von, and Theodore.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Juanita and Darrell Williams and her niece Gina D. Houtz.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
