A memorial service for Michael Dewayne Ellis, 62, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026, at the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Christian Murillo officiating.

Michael DeWayne Ellis was born in Antlers, Oklahoma on October 9, 1963, to Junior and Bonita Ellis. He passed from this life on Sunday, June 14, 2026, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Mike attended Pioneer Schools then graduated from Ninnekah High School.

When he was younger, he rode bulls for a time. He went to work in the family business building bridges, then started his own construction company, Allicat Construction. He also worked in the oil field, working his way up to company man and spending some time in Saudia Arabia before going back into construction for the last part of his career.

In 1997, he married Darla (Mosley) Payne and to this union his daughter Alli was born.

Mike was a jack-of-all-trades; he was very mechanical and loved to tinker around the house. He loved working on older classic cars. He had a rough and tough exterior but was very kind-hearted, helping strangers and taking care of and loving many animals. He was very funny with a sharp wit. He was a collector and enjoyed music and going fishing.

He was preceded in death by both parents.

Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his daughter Alli Ellis and her fiancé Zack Luers of Chickasha; granddaughter Ellie Austin; daughter Christina Owens and children of Oklahoma City; sisters Leslie Bradley, Paris Tillery and husband Kevin, and Kathy Glass; many nieces, nephew, cousins, and other extended family and friends.

The service and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
