Obituary

A funeral service for Mary Lee Escoe Boone, 82, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, at The Church of the Living God with Pastor Delbert Allen Sr. officiating.

Mary Lee (Mays) Escoe Boone was born February 6, 1944, in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Mose and Elnora (Booker) Mays. She passed from this life on July 1, 2026 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Mary attended Lincoln School and graduated from Chickasha High School. She attended one year at OCW, now USAO, in Chickasha.

She worked at Grady Memorial Hospital for awhile then she worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 33 years. Mary united with The Church of the Living God, Pillar and Ground of the Truth, at an early age. She was a faithful and active member of the Missions Department, the financial secretary for the church and worked with the Communion Board with Sister Margie and later with Sister Judith Mays and Sister Mollie Robert.

Mary was united in marriage with Tyrone Escoe. She was later was married to Jack L. Boone for nineteen years.

She was preceded in death by both parents, husband Jack Boone, sisters Mosezetta (Mays) Burdex and Erma Jean (Miller) Russell, brother James T. Miller, nephew Adrian Burdex.

Loved ones left to cherish her memory are her children Brian Escoe of Chickasha and Sondra Brown and husband Terry of Concord, North Carolina; nieces Judith Mays and Alicia Mays; nephew Steven Mays and wife Charity; sisters-in-law Tillie Taylor, Dorothy Walden, Violet Harris, and Rose Foster; and other extended family, church family, and friends.

Viewing for Mary will be held at Ferguson Funeral Home on Thursday, July 9th from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
