A memorial service for Mark Lynn Hatchett, 70, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in the Living Waters Church, 826 W. Oregon Ave. in Chickasha with Pastor Omar Fierro officiating.
Mark Lynn Hatchett was born April 23, 1955, in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Jesse Lee Hatchett and Billie Doris (Russell) Hatchett. He passed from this life on Monday, September 15, 2025, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Mark was born and raised in Chickasha, Oklahoma, where he spent his childhood and built a lifetime of memories. He attended Chickasha Public Schools and graduated proudly from Chickasha High School.
Mark had a gentle spirit and a soft heart for animals, especially cats. Over the past 24 years, he shared his life with Sugars, Hunter, Garfield, Gizmo, Socks, CallieAnne, and FreyaJean, each leaving a pawprint on his heart. But it was Greylyn—his beloved five-year-old gray boy—who was his constant shadow and held an especially deep bond with him.
Mark’s love for football was something everyone who knew him recognized. He was a devoted fan of both his Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Dallas Cowboys, cheering them on through every season.
Beyond his passions, Mark found purpose in his work. He built a successful landscaping business, where his creativity and pride showed in every yard he touched. Some of his proudest moments came from working alongside his sons—Max, Mark Jr., and Cody. Together, they learned, laughed, and worked side by side, creating not only beautiful landscapes but cherished memories that will stay with them forever. Mark and his oldest son Max still enjoyed doing yard work together on occasion.
Mark was also a devoted husband to the love of his life, his wife, Lisa. Their marriage was filled with love, faith, and laughter. Mark’s favorite words to Lisa were always, “Remember, God is good all the time, and I love you very much," to which she would faithfully respond, “And all the time, God is good, I love you so very much." This simple exchange was a reflection of their shared faith, love and enduring bond. Mark will be remembered as the kindest of men—a loving husband, a proud father, a loyal friend, and a gentle soul. His presence will be deeply missed, but his love and the lessons he shared will live on through his family.
Mark’s absence leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his memory will forever remain a blessing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Billie Hatchett; father-in-law, Tom Faulkner, Sr.; nieces, Amie Pethel and Shannon Cogburn; and nephew, Abram Hatchett.
