Funeral service for Lorene Anna Bartlett, 91, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Critchfield officiating.
Lorene Anna Bartlett was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma on January 6, 1926, the daughter of Harvey Levi Brinkley and Minnie Lee (Phillips) Brinkley. She passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Lorene grew up in the Pocasset area, attending her entire school years at Meridian Schools, graduating in 1943. She attended Oklahoma College for Women from 1943 to 1945 and then worked for Tinker Air Force Base.
On August 4, 1945, she married her high school sweetheart Tommie Bartlett in Boston, Massachusetts. Together they had three children, Donna Jo, Judy Marie and Tommie Andrew, Jr. They had 52 wonderful years together until Tommie’s death in March of 1997.
Lorene and Tommie spent most of their years together around Chickasha except for a few years in Wellington, Kansas and Oklahoma City moving back to Chickasha in 1961. In 1977 she moved to the Amber community and lived there for many years and then she moved back to Chickasha in 2000. For many years she attended and was a member of Son Rise Baptist Church. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a very unselfish and giving person and raised her family in a Christian home with lots of love and faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Ned Pearson; grandson Steve Beverly; two sisters, Demma Fay Black and Geraldean R. Angus; two brothers, Harvey and Howard Brinkley; brothers-in-law, Gerald Angus and A.C. Black; sisters-in-law, Wilda Brinkley and Karen Brinkley.
She leaves behind one daughter and son-in-law; Judy and Rob Holten of Chickasha; one son Tommie Bartlett of Broken Arrow; grandsons, Scott Beverly of Chickasha, Robbie Holten of Yukon, Josh Bartlett of Tulsa, John Holten and wife, DeAnn, of Anadarko and Andy Holten and wife, Amy, of Togo, Africa; granddaughter, Lauren Bartlett of Tulsa; great-grandchildren, Whitnie and John Mark Holten of Anadarko and Andrew and Ben Holten of Togo, Africa; sisters-in-law, Nadine Schmidt and Ruby Rayburn; many nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
