Obituary

A graveside funeral service for Lisa Ranae Mathews, 65, of Chickasha, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Fairlawn Cemetery.

Lisa Ranae (Briscoe) Mathews was born January 18, 1961, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Raymond Eugene Briscoe and Linda Faye (Smith) Briscoe. She passed from this life on Friday, February 27, 2026, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Lisa grew up in Oklahoma City and moved with the family to Chickasha when she was in junior high.

On January 28, 1978, she married Donald “Donnie” Mathews in Chickasha, Oklahoma and they shared 41 years together until his passing in 2019. They welcomed their son, Johnny in 1985, and their daughter, Jennifer in 1986.

Lisa was a stay-at-home mom until they were in middle school. She worked for years at Delta Faucet, Fluid Services for several years, then Ross Seed.

She enjoyed camping until it was time for bed. She liked going to play bingo and going to the casino. She loved Mexican food. Lisa loved spending time with her grandkids. She was stubborn, onery, funny and was set in her ways, however she was there for her loved ones anytime they needed her. She always had a smile and she loved deeply.

Lisa was preceded in death by both parents, her loving husband Donnie, brother Michael Briscoe, her grandmother Ruby James Smith, who was the matriarch of the family, aunts Connie Schmidt and Sheila Smith, and uncles Gary Smith, Bobby Smith, and R.C. Smith.

Loved ones left to remember Lisa are her son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Leslie Mathews of Ninnekah; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Justin Pugh of Chickasha; grandchildren, Hagan Pitchford, Abby Pugh, Logan Davis, Gavin Mathews, Grayson Mathews, and Gage Mathews; and a great-grandchild on the way; brother Danny Briscoe of Pocasset; sister Gayla Briscoe of Friend; brother-in-law Paul Mathews and wife Tammy of Medford; sister-in-law Debbie Moore and husband Ronnie of Dickson; sister-in-law Sandy Taylor of Texas; her beloved Aunt Esta Hatchett and husband Joel of Chickasha; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends, whom she loved dearly.

A viewing for Lisa will be held at Ferguson Funeral Home on Sunday, March 1st from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
