Obituary

A private memorial service for Libby Jo Sanders, 79, of Chickasha, formerly of Marlow, will be held by the family at a later date.

Elizabeth Jo (Lutsch) Sanders, who went by Libby her entire life, was born March 19, 1947 in Toledo, Ohio, to Rudolph Albert Lutsch and Lilly (McKinnel) Lutsch. She passed from this life on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Glenhaven Retirement Village in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Libby grew up in Ohio and moved with her family to Phoenix, Arizona. Around 1978, she moved to Oklahoma, working for the City of Marlow. Her mother became sick and for a time she and her children moved back to Arizona to take care of her. This experience led to her becoming a caregiver and she had a passion for being a personal caregiver and friend to many over the years, retiring about seven years ago.

She was a single mom and was a strong woman raising her children. She spoke her mind and loved focusing all her extra time on her grandchildren. One of her greatest enjoyments was having the family over for dinners.

Libby was preceded in death by both parents; brothers Jack, Mike, and Michael Lutsch; sister Kathy Lutsch; daughter Trisha Sanders; and granddaughter Amanda Mellon.

Loved ones left to cherish her memory are her children Darrell Sanders and wife Christina of Chickasha, daughter Jody Bryant and husband Paul of Duncan, and Darrik Forsythe and wife Melissa of Vermont; sister Eileen Fraze of Arizona; grandchildren Tanner Sanders, Alexis Sanders, Miranda Sanders, Emily Sweetman, Robby Sweetman, Nolan Sweetman, Boyd Nunn, Colton Nunn, and Cory Tickman; great-grandchildren Kaleb, Kylee, Nora, Onyx, Elizabeth, and Auggie; and other extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Glenhaven Retirement Village for the wonderful care they provided Libby.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
