Obituary

A graveside funeral service for Larry Allen Ruzicka, 79, of the Cyril area, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, in the Celestial Gardens Cemetery, Cyril, Oklahoma, with Daniel Edwards officiating.

Larry Allen Ruzicka was born November 26, 1946, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to George Andrew Ruzicka and Helen Mozelle (Slama) Ruzicka. He passed from this life on August 31, 2026, in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Larry grew up in Cyril, graduating high school in May 1965. He earned his Electrical Engineering degree from OSU.

On July 30, 1966, he married Barbara Lee James. They shared 44 years together and had two daughters, Laura Michelle and Sara Elizabeth.

He was drafted by the United States Army on August 30, 1968, and served until August 24, 1970. He worked for Western Electric, Hermetic Switch, and Airgas as an electrical engineer.

Larry was preceded in death by both parents, his wife Barbara (James) Ruzicka in 2010, daughter Sara Elizabeth (Ruzicka) Wittrock, and grandson Kane Benjamin O’Hara.

Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law Laura and Bert O’Hara of El Reno; grandchildren Forrest Moore and wife Pam of Cyril, McCall White and husband Johnny of Mustang, Mary Strecker and husband Rock of El Reno, Grady O’Hara and wife Emily of El Reno, Trey Wittrock of Okarche, and Ty Wittrock of Okarche; great-grandchildren Peyton, Malania, Remington, Riverlyn, Quade, Quilla, McGraw, and Cassian; and other extended family and friends.

Viewing for Larry will be at Ferguson Funeral Home on Thursday, September 3rd from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

The service and interment will be under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
