A funeral service for Kenneth Ray Walker, of Chickasha, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Chapel with President Shaw ministering.
We are sad to announce the passing of our father, Kenneth Ray Walker. He passed away April 14, 2026, at the age of 79. He was born on October 12, 1946, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to George H. Walker and Lucille L. (Hunter) Walker.
Kenneth grew up and attended school in Cement, where he played on the High School Basketball team. He met the love of his life and eternal companion, Margaret Ann Walker, in Cement, Oklahoma.
Kenneth and Margaret were married on April 21,1967. They lived in Oklahoma City, OK; Okmulgee, OK; Wichita, KS; Cement, OK; Brownsville, TX; Cushing, OK, and finally settled in Chickasha, and were blessed with 2 sons and 1 daughter. They were long-time members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as Branch President in Anadarko and Chickasha, Oklahoma, as well as Bishop in Brownsville, Texas. He served as the School Board President for the Cement School Board and served on the Chickasha City Council.
He worked as the plant manager for an automotive company. He enjoyed playing pool and eventually graduated to snooker…he needed a real challenge. Throughout his lifetime, he also enjoyed fishing with his dad, golf, metal detecting, pocket watch repairs, and painting.
Kenneth was preceded in death by both parents and his wife, Margaret in March of 2024.
Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his children Michael Walker (Sharon), David Walker (Rochelle), and Melissa Thornock (Monty); he is survived as well by his 15 grandchildren; Jeff Walker (Shelbie), Whitnee Crowder (Kasey), Amber Martin (Dylan), Jason Walker, Makenzie Child (Brandon), Ryan Thornock, Chandler Thornock (Katherine), Lauren Wilson (Camron), Zachary Walker, Abby Walker, Ethan Walker, Ammon Walker, Mary Walker, and Sara Walker; and 5 great-grandchildren: Liv Child, Rogue Child, Kannon Crowder, Kynlee Crowder, and Jett Walker.
Viewing for Kenneth will be available on the day of the service at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the service time.
Interment will be in the Big Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery west of Cushing, Oklahoma under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
