Duncan Municipal Cemetery
11:00 am - 12:00 pm (Central time)
A graveside Celebration of Life for Juleigh Marie Giddens, 51, of Mukilteo, Washington, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026, in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery located in Duncan, Oklahoma.
Juleigh passed away on April 10, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, just one day before her 52nd birthday.
Juleigh was born on April 11, 1974, in Duncan, Oklahoma, where she was raised and graduated from Duncan Senior High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University, where she was a National Merit Scholar and a member of both Eta Kappa Nu and Tau Beta Pi honor societies. She later earned a Master of Science in Electric Power Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.
Juleigh built an exceptional career as an electrical engineer specializing in pulsed power systems and high-voltage engineering. She held leadership roles at BAE Systems, General Atomics, the Nevada National Security Site, and most recently served as Principal High Voltage Engineer and Pulsed Power Manager at Zap Energy in Washington. She was widely respected not only for her technical expertise, but also for her leadership, integrity, and commitment to mentoring others.
Those who worked alongside Juleigh described her as a steady and thoughtful leader who invested deeply in her team. She quietly supported others, often going out of her way to ease their burdens without seeking recognition. Her mentorship shaped careers, and her influence will continue through the many engineers she guided and encouraged.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Juleigh was known for her wit, humor, and love of life. She enjoyed football, hockey, and trivia, and had a sharp mind paired with a dry, quick sense of humor. She was creative, adventurous, and she deeply valued time spent with those she loved.
Her faith was an important part of her life, and she attended Spring of Life Church in Mukilteo, Washington.
Juleigh is survived by her mother, Sonya Giddens; her siblings, Devin Giddens and his wife, Angela; and Kristen Harris and her husband, Kelley; her stepchildren, James Perona, Ben Perona, and Caitlyn Lankford; her nieces and nephew, Madeline Giddens, Margo Giddens, Kathryn Ashford, Juliana Harris, and Connor Ashford; and many extended family members, friends, and colleagues whose lives she touched deeply. She was preceded in death by her father, James Giddens.
