Joel Turner

A graveside funeral service for Joel Charles “J.C.” Turner, 86, of Amber, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in the Amber Cemetery.

Joel Charles Turner was born on December 5, 1938, in Alex, Oklahoma, the son of Joe Enfield Turner and Gladys (Wilkins) Turner. He passed from this life on Saturday, October 18, 2025, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

J.C. was raised on the farm east of Amber; he attended school in Middleberg and Amber. He married Eufaula Faye Duke on January 16, 1960, in Chickasha Oklahoma. He loved to farm, raise cattle, and liked being his own boss. He also loved to hunt and fish and to sit at the table with the grandkids to eat watermelon. He was a member of the Amber Mission Church. He always had a strong will to live, going through two open-heart surgeries. J.C. showed the family you can do anything you set your mind to do. The man was a good provider and taught his family to work together, and his legacy will live on.

J.C. was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, infant Rhonda Turner and Maxine Duncan; brothers, John Turner and Gary Turner; sons-in-law, Kevin Wade and Steve Doan.

Loved ones left to remember him are his wife, Eufaula Turner of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Cindy Turner of Amber; daughters and son-in-law, Pam and Roger Haney of Amber, Lisa Doan of Amber, and Sheila Wade of Garber; grandchildren; Josh and Brook Gunter, Ashley and Jeff Martin, Tosha and Perry Powell, Matt and Lindsey Turner, Joel and Kandice  Doan, Ethan and Erica Doan, Tyler Wade, Michael Wade, Dawsyn Wade, and Kelli and Larry Gunter; great grandchildren, Eli and Khi Gunter, Jase and  Easton Martin, Ella, Cora, and Carlee Powell, Rosie, Izzy and A.J. Doan, John Doan, Timber and Scottie Turner, John, McKinzee, and Larissa Gunter.

A special thank you to Glenhaven Retirement Village and Lifeline Hospice for the wonderful care they gave J.C.

Viewing for J.C. will be held at Ferguson Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with family present to receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
