A funeral service for Jeanie Singleton, 84, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, in the Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Emeritus Kim Hayes officiating.

Jeanie Elizabeth (Cavin) was born on August 2, 1942, in Nashville, Kansas to Harold Cavin and Margaret Mae (Lucas) Cavin. She passed from this life on Friday, August 21, 2026 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Jeanie grew up in El Reno, Oklahoma, and graduated from El Reno High School. She learned to drive her father’s large trucks at a young age and was known to arrive at school in one car, only to leave at the end of the day behind the wheel of one of her father’s wreckers. After graduation, she worked for the Federal Aviation Administration in Oklahoma City.

On June 6, 1961, Jeanie married Kenneth Don Singleton in Oklahoma City. Together, they shared 56 years of marriage and raised three wonderful children—Ken, Boyd, and Carrie—in Chickasha.

Jeanie’s husband, Ken, served the community as a local State Farm agent for 35 years. Although Jeanie may not have held the official title of “agent,” she spent several years managing the office, taking care of customers, and helping keep the business running. Through State Farm, Jeanie and Ken earned trips that allowed them to travel around the world together.

Ken and Jeanie were also known for spending six weeks each year along the Texas coast, where Ken could fish to his heart’s content. Over the years, they brought home thousands of pounds of fish, leading to countless fish fries at their home and church. As Ken grew older, Jeanie learned to drive—and somehow park—their motorhome, truck, and boat combination in just about any available spot.

To her grandchildren, Jeanie was lovingly known as Mimi. She handled all the running around, and picking up and dropping off children became her specialty. If anyone needed something, Jeanie was the woman to call. She spent countless years picking up parts, attending softball games and dance competitions, watching her grandsons play baseball, and delivering service tickets to El Reno. The list could go on for miles. Mimi was a constant in the lives of those she loved, and her family always knew they could depend on her.

Jeanie was a member of Ninnekah Baptist Church, where she played the piano. After her sons began attending Bible Baptist Church, Jeanie and Ken followed along. She soon came to love her new church home and even played the piano before Wednesday evening services.

Jeanie was a talker, and she knew how to put that gift to good use. When her oldest son, Ken, began drag boat racing, she was not about to stay home. She became part of the crew and traveled across the country selling T-shirts to racing fans. She would talk to nearly everyone who passed through the pit area—and she would stop to visit whether they planned on stopping or not. Somehow, by the end of the conversation, she had usually sold them a sweatshirt in the middle of July.

Jeanie was a fierce woman who told it like it was—honestly and without hesitation. She loved just as fiercely. Her smile could light up a room, her laughter was contagious, and her steady presence made her the heart of her family.

Preceded in death by both parents, Harold & Margaret Cavin; her husband, Kenneth Singleton; brothers-in-law, Wayne Albright, Archie Blevins, and Richard Warner.

Loved ones left to cherish Jeanie are her children and their spouses, Kendall and Jo Singleton of Ninnekah, Boyd and Tammy Singleton of Chickasha, and Carrie and Travis Daugherty of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Morgan and Andrew East, Kate and Matthew Brownlee, Heather and Richard Hutton, Brandon and Katie Doughty, Kalyssa Singleton, Tanner Daugherty, and Ethan Daugherty; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Bratcher, Kiera, Juliann, and AJ East, Jaelynn and Kaydence Ramirez, and Easton, Joslyn, and Caroline Doughty; sister, Judy Albright; sisters-in-law, Barbara Blevins and Shariol Warner; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dennis and Virginia Singleton; nephews, Bryan Albright and his wife, Lisa, and Darren Albright and his wife, Eniko; as well as many other nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Viewing will be at Ferguson Funeral Home on Friday, August 28th from 3:00 p.m. with the family present to receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
