A funeral service for Janice Rae Clift, 77, of Ninnekah, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Bible Baptist Church with Paster Emeritus Kim Hayes officiating.
Janice Rae (Adkins) Clift was born January 27, 1948, in Santa Barbara, California, the daughter of Homer Clyde Adkins and Ruby Frances (Smith) Adkins. She passed from this life on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at home in Ninnekah, Oklahoma.
Janice grew up in Bowie, Texas until her family moved to Dibble, Oklahoma. She graduated from Dibble High School in 1966 and soon married her high school sweetheart, John E. Clift on June 11, 1966 in Farmington, New Mexico. They shared 59 wonderful years together.
During the time John was enlisted in the Army and serving in Vietnam, Janice stayed home and raised their family. When he got home, they moved to a farm east of Tabler for a time. When John began working for the Chickasha Fire Department, they lived in Chickasha from 1971 to 1978 when they moved to Ninnekah. Janice worked for Chickasha Bank for 16 years and then worked at Pioneer School as the Superintendent Secretary, retiring in 2012.
Janice enjoyed reading, camping and traveling when they had the opportunity. She loved taking care of her flowers and watching the birds. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had cherished the last couple years of her mother’s life by taking care of her. She was the greatest woman you would ever meet, an angel on earth. She was a kind-hearted, pleasant lady with a soft-spoken and gentle spirit. She will be deeply missed.
Janice was preceded in death by both parents and her brother Michael Clyde Adkins.
Loved ones left to treasure her memory are her husband John Clift of the home; children Debra Clift of Purcell and John Marshall Clift and wife Kimberly D. Clift of Pocasset; brother Gary Adkins and wife Danni of Dibble; grandchildren and their spouses Meagan and Layne Greeson, Sarah Jo and Clark Lisle, Matthew Kyle Clift, Toby and Amanda Bell, Kennedy and Tristan Bowman, Olivia and Zach Linster, and Travis Luke Clift and fiancée Kylee Smith; great-grandchildren Jack, Lakelyn, Jameson, and Johnathan; and other extended family and friends.
Interment will be in Dibble Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
