With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Martha Jane (Nixon) Clark, who left this world peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on March 6, 2026.

A memorial service to honor Jane Clark, 85, of Edmond, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Epworth United Methodist Church in Chickasha with Reverend Steve Taylor officiating and Reverend Larry Jacobson assisting.

Born December 19, 1940 in the quaint town of Ballinger, Texas, Jane’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering kindness. The daughter of Rupert Myles Nixon and Jessie Pearl (Cash) Nixon, Jane grew up with the values of hard work and compassion. She shared a close bond with her brother, Rupert Myles “Jim” Nixon, who preceded her in death. Her younger years were filled with the affinity and warmth of her Texas roots.

On December 9, 1960, she married the love of her life, William Grady Clark, Jr. Together they would embark on a journey that would span decades, building a family grounded in love and respect along the way. After Grady’s passing in March of 2018, Jane’s resilience and grace only deepened, as she continued to nurture her family and live a life full of purpose.

As a young dedicated professional, Jane worked for Ballinger Independent School District as a secretary for both the Junior High and High School. Working in the school system fostered her passion for education and nurturing, prompting her to work as a substitute teacher while working alongside her husband, assisting at his insurance office. Over the years, she built a career as a trusted office manager and bookkeeper for various businesses, where she was known for her adaptability, reliability and dependable spirit. Beyond her professional life, Jane was a vibrant member of her community. Her love for Bridge, brought her joy and connection with friends at the Ballinger Country Club. She was an avid reader, finding solace and adventure within the pages of books.

Known for her radiant smile and friendly nature, Jane never met a stranger, embodying a spirit of warmth and compassion wherever she went. Jane lived for a few years in Chickasha and developed close friendships with many at Epworth United Methodist Church and had a special bond with the ladies. Jane’s greatest pride was her family. She was the loving matriarch of the family, and her three grandchildren were the light of her life and she was their most enthusiastic cheerleader, celebrating every achievement with boundless joy and pride.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Grady Clark, Jr., parents Myles and Jessie Nixon, brother Jim Nixon, in-laws Grady, Sr. and Gladys Clark.

Her loved ones left to cherish her memory are her son Kyle Clark and wife Debbie (Spoonemore) Clark and their children Haley and Nathan; her daughter Lisa Clark and son Phillip and his partner Kaiser; nieces, nephews and other extended family and a community of friends.

Martha Jane (Nixon) Clark’s life was a beautiful testament to love, kindness, selflessness, and enduring strength. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know her. As we bid farewell, we remember her gratitude and celebrate a life well-lived, brimming with love.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to a charity close to Jane’s heart, such as, The Children’s Miracle Network or The Carnegie Library in Ballinger, Texas.

The service and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
