A funeral service for Hipolito Barrera, 81, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, in the Plainview Mennonite Church.

Hipolito Barrera was born August 13, 1944, in Chihuahua, Mexico to Carpio Barrera and Felicitas (Garcia) Barrera. He passed from this life on Friday, February 20, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Hipolito grew up in Mexico and was a farmer. On January 26, 1969, he married Enriqueta Sosa and they shared 57 years together. They came to the United States in 1985. They settled in Chickasha and Hipolito worked in electrical assembly at Hart Trailers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Porfiria Castro, and brother David Barrera.

Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his wife Enriqueta, of the home; children Orlando Barrera and wife Mary of Isabella, Joel Barrera and Jorden Emmert of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, Felipe Barrera of Chickasha, and Wendy Nightingale and husband Tyson of Murray, Kentucky; fourteen grandchildren Daisy, Esteli, Ulysses, Austin, Tristan, Alexia, Ashlyn, Jesse, Jameson, Monica, Reed, Riley, Wilson, and Lucas; three great-grandchildren Matthew, Blair, and William; three brothers and four sisters; and other extended family and friends.

Viewing for Hipolito will be available at Ferguson Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 24th from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Interment will be in the Plainview Mennonite Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
