A graveside memorial service for Harold Dee Pribble, 79, of Verden will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Fairlawn Cemetery, north of Chickasha.
Harold Dee Pribble was born January 23, 1946, the son of Brady Ballard Pribble and Toretha Washburn Pribble. He passed from this life on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, in Oklahoma City.
Harold grew up in Anadarko. He was graduated from the Anadarko High School in 1963 and then joined the Army. He served in the Vietnam and Gulf Wars and in Bosnia. He was a Green Beret and retired in 1997 having earned a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star, a Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, a Combat Infantry Badge and citations for being an expert Sharpshooter with an M-16 rifle and with Hand Grenades. While serving in Germany he was a founding member of the European Rodeo Association winning Grand Champion Calf Roper in 1977. When Harold wasn’t serving in the Army he worked as a ranch hand on several of the big ranches and feedlots in Nebraska. After his military retirement he worked in ranching and farming in Caddo County. Harold always kept a fine horse, a good dog, and his guns. He loved Audie Murphy movies, Gunsmoke, and anything with John Wayne. He loved a good rodeo, cattle, Diet Coke, and telling all kinds of stories.
Harold is preceded in death by both parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
Loved ones left to remember Harold are his sister, June Post of Anadarko; son, Timothy Pribble of North Carolina; daughter, Cody Anne Pribble of California; nephew and wife, Travis and Hillary Post and William Post.
Interment of Harold's cremains will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
