Gloria Jean Forsythe

A private service for Gloria Jean Forsythe, 81, of Chickasha will be held at a later date by the family.

Gloria Jean (Gribble) Forsythe was born October 21, 1944, in Redding, California to Marvin Gribble and Gladys (Gemar) Gribble. She passed from this life Monday, August 4, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Gloria grew up in Carmichael, California and graduated from Hiram Johnson High School. She attended college for a time.

On April 7, 1962, she married Dennis C. Forsythe, Sr. and they shared 63 years together.

Over the years, she raised her family as she worked. She was employed in food service, as a CNA at a hospital, and worked for the State of California as an office assistant with the Lottery Commission. She retired and a few years later Dennis retired and in 2004 they moved to Oklahoma to be closer to his mother.

Gloria liked to sew, draw and paint. She enjoyed her plants and gardening. She loved to gamble. She was funny, a bit onery, very friendly and she would give you the shirt off her back.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Loved ones left to remember her are her husband Dennis C. Forsythe, Sr. of the home; son Dennis “Craig” Forsythe, Jr. of the home in Chickasha; daughter and son-in-law Jeannie and Jeff Tinnin of Wynnewood; sister Diana Carruth of California; brother Marvin Gribble of Oregon; grandchildren Raquel and James Smith, David and Priscilla Forsythe, Dustin Wolfee, and Cody James Forsythe eight great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
