Geneva Lee
Boyer
May 8, 1927 – April 26, 2026
A graveside funeral service for Geneva Lee Boyer, 98, of Tuttle, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, Oklahoma.
Geneva Lee (Reynolds) Boyer was born May 8, 1927, about two miles south of where she lived for the past 78 years of her life. She passed from this life on Sunday, April 26, 2026, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
She was the first child born to Thomas Lee Reynolds and Sophia Catherine (Miller) Reynolds. A little girl came next after Geneva, Opal Winona, and she died at four years of age. Geneva was nine years old when Dellow David came along, then Deloris Jean (Rodgers), followed by Bettie Louise (Base).
They had moved to her grandparents’ home place and attended school at Amber. She loved that old two-story building. When she was in 8th grade there was about 28 in her class, but then wartime came and the people scattered to get jobs. By the time she graduated, there were 7 in her class. Geneva was the last living of her classmates.
After graduating, she stayed at the home place, but couldn’t see any future. So, she went to OCW (Oklahoma College for Women) and worked in the lunch room and at on-campus jobs. She enrolled in Home Economics but thought it was a waste of time.
One day, Kenneth Boyer called her there at OCW and 6 months later, on June 1, 1947, they married in Yukon, Oklahoma. He had two small children, Kenneth Ray and Donna Jeanne. They had a small farm, but both worked it and took care of the animals. Her dream was coming true.
In 1948, they added Margaret Ann to the family and 14 ½ years later, Walt Joseph came along. In time, five grandchildren came, followed by four more, so their holidays were special as were all the rest of the days. Geneva enjoyed the time when she belonged to a County Home Demonstration Club and a Women’s Club in Tuttle.
Those who have gone on ahead of her are husband Kenneth Boyer, parents Thomas and Sophia Reynolds, little sister Opal Winona, brother Dellow David and wife Rita, sister Bettie Base, and sister Deloris Rodgers and husband Glenn.
Loved ones left to remember her are her daughter Margaret Ann (Boyer) Davis and husband Evert; son Walt Joseph Boyer and wife Charlotte; four grandchildren Brad Davis, Cindy Martin, Emily Croney, and Kimberly Stewart; five great-grandsons and one on the way and one great-granddaughter; step-children Kenneth Ray Boyer and Donna Jeannie (Boyer) Coats; brother-in-law Fred Base; and other extended family and friends.
Viewing for Geneva will be at Ferguson Funeral Home located in Chickasha, Oklahoma on Tuesday, April 28th from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Interment will be under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
