Gary Don Orr

Gary Don Orr, 69, of Chickasha, was born November 8, 1955, in Midland, Texas to Earl Vance Orr and Margret Ellon (Honsinger) Orr. He passed from this life on July 27, 2025, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Over his lifetime, he lived in Texas, Kansas, Michigan, and Oklahoma, as his parents, for 45 years, took various official assignments. After graduating from high school in Mason, Michigan and attending trade school, Gary moved to Chickasha with his parents.

In 2003, he married Melinda Hyatt, and they lived in Alex and had a son, Christopher Don, who was the joy of their lives.

Gary worked, lived and enjoyed life in the Chickasha area for many years, where he accumulated a multitude of acquaintances and many friends. Although his remaining family is small, his list of friends and acquaintances is large, and he will be missed by all.

Recently, Gary had been under the loving care of Cottonwood Creek Skilled Nursing, to whom the family extends a special thank you.

He was preceded in death by both parents and his wife Milindia “Melinda” (Hyatt) Orr.

Loved ones left to remember him are his son Christopher Orr of Alex; brother and sister-in-law Floyd and Carolyn Orr of Elkins, Arkansas; sister Janice Morris of Mustang; nieces Stephanie Abbott, Brandy Augustine, Ellie Williams, and Cynthia Williams; and many friends and extended family.

Cremation arrangements are with Ferguson Funeral Home. The family will have private services at a later date.
