Fran Melencamp

A private memorial service for Frances “Fran” Marie Melencamp,75, of Chickasha, will be held by the family at a later date.

Frances “Fran” Marie (Wiginton) was born November 21, 1949, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma the daughter of Phil Wiginton and Patsy Ruth (Wright) Baca.

Fran grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She met and married Jerry Parnell in Tulsa Oklahoma, they raised three children, and she became a nurse. Then she went on to marry Larry Melencamp and they resided in Chickasha for 12 years, where they retired and lived a quiet life with their animals. She was a mother of three and a grandmother of ten and a great-grandmother of two. She loved and lived for her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Phil Wiginton, late husband, Jerry Parnell, and husband Larry Melencamp.

Loved ones left to remember Fran are her parents, Patsy and Phil Baca, siblings Genie Johnson, Trina Burkett, Vicki McCreary, James Baca; children Steve and Shanna Parnell, Mark and Tammy Parnell, Angela and Ray Pipkin; grandchildren, Audrey, Sid, Brook and Brody Parnell. Ray D. Pipkin, Nikiah Parnell, Maci Parnell, Ty Parnell, Caleb Browning and Dillon Lankford. great-grandchildren Kaiden Pipkin and Ky Cunningham; four-legged fur baby Tootsie; and other extended family and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
