The family of Emily Dyan Mitchell, 44, of Chickasha, will hold a memorial service at a later date.

Emily Dyan Walker was born on December 16, 1981, in Seiling, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jerry Duain Walker and Nancy Lee (Reuter) Walker. She passed from this life on Thursday, April 2, 2026, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, surrounded by her family.

Emily grew up in Chickasha and went to Chickasha Schools. As a young girl she enjoyed riding horses and playing the piano. She graduated from Chickasha High School in 2000.

On September 6, 2002, she married Michael Mitchell and from this union their sons, Preston and Cameron were born. While going to college she was employed with Frailey, Chaffin, Cordell, Perryman, Sterkel, and McCalla law firm in Chickasha.

She graduated from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in 2004 majoring in business.

Emily was employed with Department of Human Services working with challenged children and special young adults.

She enjoyed nature and being in the high county. She was also ornery and was head strong.

Emily was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Lee Walker and brother, Craig Walker.

Loved ones left to cherish her memory are her sons, Preston and Cameron Mitchell of Chickasha; father, Jerry Walker and wife, Jennifer of Chickasha; brother Cliff Walker of Chickasha; and other extended family and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
