A funeral service for Donita Elaine Marshall, 70, of Rush Springs, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with James Byrd officiating.
Donita Elaine Marshall was born July 26, 1955, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Donnie Roy Smith and Helen Louise (Gibbons) Smith. She passed from this life on Monday, December 8, 2025, at her home in Rush Springs, Oklahoma.
Donita grew up in Minco, graduating from Minco High School in 1972. She worked for the Chickasha Daily Express.
On February 12, 1974, she married Terry Gordon Marshall, and they shared over 51 years together.
She was a homemaker, raising two wonderful girls and homeschooling them through the 4th grade. She had worked for Maremont for a time while raising the girls. After putting the girls in public school, she continued her education at the Vo-Tech learning business skills. She was then employed at the Canadian Valley Technology Center for many years, retiring at the end of the Spring term in 2019.
Donita enjoyed making homemade cards with stamping and glitter. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and “Nanny.” She loved her time with her great-granddaughter, Kambryn. She really enjoyed her group of friends from CVCT.
Donita was preceded in death by her father Donnie Roy Smith and her sister-in-law Deana Smith.
Loved ones left to cherish her memory are her husband, Terry of the home; daughter and son-in-law Rachel and Garrod Nightingale of Rush Springs; daughter Sara Rouse of Duncan; mother Helen Smith of Minco; brothers Roy Smith of Minco and Cleo Smith and wife Kristy of Minco; five grandchildren Kylie Parrish, Glendon Nightingale, Emma Rouse, Gavin Nightingale, and Jade Nightingale and one great-grandchild Kambryn Paige Parrish; and other extended family and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Valley Tech Foundation in care of First National Bank and Trust.
There will be no viewing for Donita, however the family will receive friends on Thursday, December 11th at Ferguson Funeral Home from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Interment will be held in Amber Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
