Dawna June Montgomery

The family of Dawna June Montgomery, 56, of Chickasha, will hold private services at a later date.

Dawna June Montgomery was born January 11, 1969, in El Reno, Oklahoma. She is the daughter of Jesse Ray Balke and Delores Faye Ransome. She passed from this life Friday, August 22, 2025, at her home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Dawna grew up in Pocasset. Going to school there and then to Amber-Pocasset High School. She loved to fish and cook for everyone. She loved making tamales and fry bread for Indian tacos. She loved going to Quartz Mountains and the rattlesnake festival.

She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Jackson, mother Delores Ransome, father Jesse Balke, grandparents Rex and Beulah Ransome, grandparents Martin and Lela Balke, and niece Brianna Grady.

Loved ones left to remember her are her daughter Jessica and son-in-law Jason Doughty; son Devin King; grandchildren, Jayleen and Jackson Doughty; sister, Debbie Balke and Diana Lynn; brother, Darrell Stewart and lots of nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
