A funeral service for Darla June Terrell, 74, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Emeritus Kim Hayes officiating.

Darla June (Smith) Terrell was born June 25, 1950 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Cagle Smith and Jewel (Wallace) Smith. She passed from this life on June 17, 2025, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Darla grew up in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High School. After graduation, she married Ron York and they adopted three children, Jason, Julie, and Jonathan. Most of her life she was a stay-at-home mom.

Later in life, she married Bob Terrell and from this union Cory Terrell was born.

She had a mother’s heart; before adopting, she volunteered her love by raising multiple foster children. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother. Above all else, she cared deeply for her family and children.

When she wasn’t raising children, she enjoyed spending time with friends, cooking fantastic meals, and enjoying desserts.

She was preceded in death by her mother Jewel Smith Carter; father Cagle Smith; brothers Milburn Smith and Gerald Smith; and daughter Julie York.

Loved ones left to remember her are her sons Jason York of Oklahoma City, Jonathan York of Chickasha, and Cory Terrell and wife Kaylee of Oklahoma City; grandson Julian Delk of Marlow; sister Carol Gregory of Oklahoma City; and other extended family and friends.

A viewing for Darla will be held at Ferguson Funeral Home on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
