Carolyn Joy Garrett

The family of Carolyn Joy Garrett, 77, of Chickasha, will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

Carolyn Joy (Hinojosa) Garrett was born September 21, 1947, in Denver, Colorado to Fred Hinojosa and Katie (Leon) Hinojosa. She passed from this life Wednesday, September 3, 2025, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

As a child, Carolyn moved with her family to California.

She met Bobby Gene Garrett, and they were married September 20, 1968, in Porterville, California. They shared over 56 years of marriage and had five children.

She stayed at home and raised their family, keeping a very clean home. She was a Christian, attending church and sang in the choir. Carolyn was inspiring and held a lot of integrity, she never said a bad word in her life. She was a loving mother and devoted wife.

She was preceded in death by both parents, a daughter Angie Prieto and two sons Gordon Goodgion and Brian Goodgion.

Loved ones left to remember her are her husband Bobby Gene Garrett of Chickasha; son William Garrett of Rapid City, South Dakota and daughter Christa Bryant of Chickasha; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
