A graveside funeral service for Brenda Jean King, 79, of Chickasha will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026 in Fairlawn Cemetery.

Brenda Jean (Waits) King was born December 4, 1946, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Robert Delbert Waits and Ruby May (Wiles) Waits. She passed from this life on Sunday, June 21, 2026, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Brenda grew up in Midwest City and graduated from Midwest City High School.

On August 14, 1965, she married Mark Rex King and to this union their children, David and Dawn were born.

She enjoyed writing Gospel songs and poems, playing the keyboard, singing, studying the bible, going to different churches, watching movies, shopping, and going out for a drive.

Brenda was preceded in death by both parents and her son David William King.

Loved ones left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law Dawn and Robert Messenger; grandsons Zachary Banker and his wife Brittany Banker, Aidan Seyedoff, Chad King, and Trevor King; granddaughter Tori Seyedoff; daughter-in-law Tammy King Turner; and other extended family and friends.

Viewing for Brenda will be at Ferguson Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 24th from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Interment will be under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
