A graveside funeral service for Bobby Olen Maurice Chasteen, 91, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026, in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Bobby was born April 12, 1934, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Main Chasteen and Lettie Marie (Wall) Chasteen. He passed from this life on March 9, 2026, surrounded by his family, in Blanchard, Oklahoma.

Bobby grew up in Chickasha and graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City. He enlisted into the United States Navy and proudly served from 1953 until 1957.

After the military, he worked at Tinker Air Force Base for a while and after his father died, he joined his father’s business partner in construction. He then worked for American Airlines and co-owned a Mexican restaurant, while also continuing to work as a carpenter in construction. He started his own business, Chasteen Construction until he retired.

Bobby loved dancing and was an avid fan of all sports. He was wickedly funny and his grandkids nicknamed him “Funny Grandpa.” He loved his family and was a good father, excellent grandfather and father-in-law, and loyal friend.

He was preceded in death by both parents, brothers Curtis Chasteen and Dwight Chasteen and a sister Ermarean Bryner.

Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his children Cathleen Chasteen Hayes of Ormond Beach, Florida, Bobby Chasteen II and wife April of Blanchard, and Lynda Chasteen Tekaat of Blanchard; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

There will be a private family viewing for Bobby.
