A graveside memorial service for Bettye J. Broussard, 90, formerly of Chickasha, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Bethlehem Cemetery in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.

Bettye J. Broussard passed away at her home in Oklahoma City, OK on September 22, 2026. She was born on September 4, 1936 in Pauls Valley, OK to James “Shug” Bradley and Mattie Jackson Bradley. Bettye married Willie Broussard of Kansas City, Mo. He preceded her in death.

Bettye graduated from Dunbar Grade School and Pauls Valley High School. She attended Langston University.

In Kansas City, MO and later in Ardmore, OK, Bettye worked as a nurse.

Bettye was known for her deep love and devotion to her family and friends. She met no strangers. She was always there for someone when they needed help.

Bettye was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, grandparents and all of her siblings: seven sisters: Margie Pearl Buckner, Edna Mae Jones, Norma Jean Evans, Dorothy Bradley, Cecil Laverne McCarther, Kathleen and Lucille Bradley, one brother, James Vernon Bradley and 3 of her children: Rhonda Nanette Dicks, Marcus Anthony Broussard and Carolyn Broussard Johnson.

Bettye is survived by her remaining children Rita Broussard of Oklahoma City, OK; Andre Broussard (Andrea) of Tulsa, OK; Bruce Broussard (Sammi) of Murphy, TX and Roderick Russell of Las Vegas, NV. She will be remembered fondly by her cherished Niece, Minnie Pearl Stevenson of Pauls Valley, all of her beloved Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The service and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
